Pranayam means to extend the breathing so that we can enrich ourself with more oxygen.

Oxygen helps to purify the blood and the blood containing the oxygen helps to make bones, muscles etc. Not only this oxygen makes our organs powerful and strong to perform different types of tasks. So to live healthy it is necessary for all of us to do Pranayam daily and regularly without any gap.

  1. 'Swas' is the air which go inside body.
  2. 'Praswas' is the air which come outside from body.
We also use some other words which are as follows-
  • 'Poorak/Purak' means to inhale air.
  • 'Rechak' mean to exhale air.
  • 'Kumbhak' mean to stop the breathing and it is of 2 types.
    • After inhaling if we stop for a while then it is called Internal Kumbhak.
    • If we stop after exhaling then it is called external Kumbhak.

Pranayam is itself very powerful and yogis attain a good stage by doing proper exercise with breathing. So if we want to live a healthy life then do start pranayam from today. It is the secret of living a disease free life. With the increse of oxygen in body and mind magical changes is felt by practitiner. 

How to perform NAADHI-SODHAN PRANAYAM?

Here I am providing steps to perform NAADHI-SODHAN PRANAYAM, which is the basis of all:
We need place free from pollution to perform this practice. This practice is very useful if done at dawning time.
  1. First of all spread a asan of woolen and sit with comfort in Padmasaan, sukhasan.
  2. Now close your right nostril with right hand thum and take a deep breath slowly and then close your left nostril with ring finger and release your right nostril and exhale slowly. 
  3. Now again inhale from your right nostril by keeping the left notril closed and then exhale from left nostril.
This is called one time 'anulom-vilom'.
Increase your time gradually.
Important Note: Try to take longer time during exhaling which will help you inhale longer too. Do this slowly and don't hurry. At the end always breath deeply.

This is the best and basic to enter in other pranayam field. As the name is clearing that it is able to purify the Nerves/naadis in the body.
