Panchopchara-Pooja is a special puja process in which 5 sacred things are offered to god or goddess. It is a process to honour the divine powers. All these five things has its own importance.

What is Panchopchaar Puja ? |
The Five Things Used in PANCHOPCHARA PUJA are as following:
- Gandh in which paste of chandan is generally used. It generally cools the body and the natural fragrance sooths us. It has a great healing power too. While offering Gandh the following sentence is used by brahmins - "Gandham vilepyami".
- Flowers/Pushp of different types are offered to the divine powers, it is said that without flowers puja is not supposed to be complete. They also spread natural fragrance and there are different types of flowers are offered to different god or goddess. Flowers are also source of energy and have great healing powers. While offering flowers the following sentence is used "Pushpam samarpayami".
- Dhoop/Dhupa of different types are offered to deities. They make the environment sacred and removes the negativity from the specific area. Also the fragrance makes a divine environment. Generally gugal or loban is used but there are many others types of dhoops are made for different god and goddess. While offering Dhoop the following sentence is used by brahmins "Dhupam Adhrapyami".
- Deepak/Lamp which represent the energy is also a very sacred power. It is offered so as to make our life also bright like fire. While offering lamp/deepak the following sentence is used "Deepam Darshayami".
- Naivedya or food is also an important part of panchopchara puja. We can't leave any guest without food and so in honour we provide the fresh and delicious bhog to deities to please them. While offering food to deities the following sentence is used "Nevaidya Nivadyami".
So this the way to perform Panchopchara puja, It is said that if anyone do the worship with panchopchara puja then divine energies blesses the person. One can fulfil wishes by performing the panchopchara-pooja devotedly and heartily.
