Story Of Radha Ashtami 2024:
Radha Rani was born 15 days after the birth of Shri Krishna and that day was the Ashtami Tithi of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha as per hindu calender, so this day is known as "Radha Ashtami". Devotees observe fast on this day to get the blessings of Radha Rani and worship Shri Krishna and Radha ji in homes and temples.

Interesting mythological story related to Radha Ashtami:
One day Goddess Radha went out of Golok. Knowing this, Lord Shri Krishna started roaming in the garden with a friend named Viraja. After some time, when Goddess Radha returned to Golok, she got angry seeing Shri Krishna with Viraja and in anger, she insulted Viraja, after which Viraja started flowing as a river. Hearing Sudama's words, Radha got angry and cursed Sudama to be born as a demon. After that Sudama also cursed Goddess Radha to be born as a human. According to the story of Shiva Purana, due to the curse of Goddess Radha, Sudama was born as Shankhachud demon, later the same demon became an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Due to Sudama's curse, Radha Rani had to bear the separation from Lord Krishna by being born as a human on earth.
