Who is Mahalaxmi?

As per hindu mythology mahalaxmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity and it is a belief that if any one please her then goddess bless the person with wealth and this is the reason why people are ready to worship her daily and every time. 
She is actually the wife of Shree Hari i.e. god vishnu.
There is a story behind her birth, when samudra manthan took place then with different things which come out, Mahalaxmi also came out and from that day she is with lord vishnu. 
Laxmiji is worshipped in 8 forms and they are known as "ASHT LAXMI" and they are - Adya laxmi, Gaj laxmi, Santan laxmi, Veer laxmi, Dhan Laxmi, Vidya laxmi, Vijay laxmi, Dhaanya Laxmi.

Devotees worship asht laxmi with the following mantra :

Om adya laxmye namah, Om Gaj laxmye Namah, Om Santan laxmye namah, Om veer laxmye namah, Om dhan laxmye namah, om vidya laxmye namah, om vijay laxmye namah, om dhaanya laxmye namah.

Beej Mantra Of Mahalaxmi:

"Shreem" is the beej mantra of mahalaxmi. It is a belief that if any one chant this mantra continuously then laxmiji bless that person with wealth and prosperity.

Yantra Related With Mahalaxmi:

The world famous yantra "Shree Yantra" is related with laxmiji and it is a belief that shree yantra is the best yantra to keep in business place and home to attract prosperity.
