Every year hindus do special process for 16 days to please ANCESTORS, these sixteen days are called sharadh paksh/MAHALAYA, Indian sages has made this tradition so that people may come out of there problems by worshiping there ancestors.

In the year 2024 Shraadh amavasya is on 2nd of October Wednesday. Amavasya Tithi will begin at around 9:42 pm on 1st October and will last till around 12:20 AM on the night of 3rd October.

The last day of shradh paksh is called "PITRA MOKSH AMAVASYA/SARWA PITRA AMAVASYA", This is the no moon night and day when it is preferred to perform sharadh or rituals for the peace of souls.

If any one don't know the tithi or day of death of any ancestor then it is good to perform the rituals on sarwa pitra moksh amavasya day. If any of our ancestor is not well then we also can't live a smooth life and so it is necessary to pray for there wellness and salvation.

Shradh paksh is also called Mahalaya in some parts of country and the amavasya of pitra paksh is also called "Mahalaya amavasya", It is good to take out a part of our meal for ancestors daily in pitru paksh because it is believed that they come to earth to visit there family but if any one forget then don't worry, pitru moksh amavasya is the best day to do the rituals to attract the blessings of ancestors.

  5. Do the PANCHBALI process i.e. give food to dog, crow, cow,  ants and divine energies.
  6. Do give GIFTS to senior members in family, senior citizens and take blessings on sarwapitru amavasya.
  7. If anyone is suffering from very big problem then do worship any PEEPAL TREE present in cremation ground and offer deepak and bhog under tree and take 8 round of it and pray for protection and good life. 
  8. One can also perform RUDRABHISHEK pooja on this day for ancestors. 
  9. Do give dhoop of saffron on south-west corner in vastu. 
  10. Black magic removal pooja is also possible on this day.
